MOTHER'S OATMEAL BREAD 
1 c. quick cooking oatmeal
2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. honey or molasses
1 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. corn oil
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
5 c. flour

Place oatmeal in bowl. Pour water over; soak yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. When oatmeal is warm, add yeast, molasses, salt, and corn oil. Stir flour into oatmeal mixture.

Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled. Then stir down and spoon into 2 large or 4 small bread pans which have been greased with corn oil. Let rise until doubled.

Bake in 400 degree oven, turned down to 350 degrees when bread is put in, for about 40 minutes.
