BOILED DINNER FOR TWO 
4 slices bacon
1 qt. water
3 lg. carrots, cut in 1/8ths
2 med. onions, peeled and cut in wedges
2 or more potatoes, peeled and halved
2 or more wedges of cabbage
Seasonings

Cut bacon in small pieces and fry in bottom of kettle until browned. Add all other ingredients, cover with water, and bring to boil. Reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook about 1 hour. (thyme, marjoram, parsley, garlic, pepper)
