AUNTIE MARY'S CHOCOLATE ROLL
COOKIES

1/2 c. butter, softened
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

FILLING:

2/3 c. sweetened condensed milk
2/3 c. (4 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Confectioners' sugar

In large mixer bowl, at medium speed cream butter, cream cheese and sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until well mixed. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Divide dough in quarters and wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.

Filling: In medium saucepan combine condensed milk and chocolate and cook over medium heat until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat. Stir in walnuts. Cool to room temperature. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 cookie sheets.

On a well floured surface roll each ball of dough (4) into a 10 x 6 inch rectangle. Spread 1/4 of the filling lengthwise down the center of each. Fold in thirds over filling. With a metal spatula transfer rolls to cookie sheets, seam side down. Bake 20 minutes or until light brown. Remove to racks to cool. Sprinkle each roll with confectioners' sugar and cut into 12 slices. Makes 4 dozen, about 95 calories each.

To stove: Place in airtight container. Store in room temperature for up to 3 weeks. Or wrap well and freeze for up to 3 months.
