ROLLED CHOCOLATE COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 sq. chocolate, melted
3 tbsp. milk
1 3/4 c. sifted Robin Hood All Purpose Flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla thoroughly. Blend in melted chocolate and the milk. Add sifted dry ingredients; mix well. Chill until dough becomes very firm. Divide into 2 portions and roll out over thin (1/16 inch) on lightly floured cloth covered board.

Cut with 3 inch floured cookie cutter. Place on lightly greased baking sheet and sprinkle with sugar, finely chopped nuts, whole nuts, or leave plain. Bake in moderately hot oven (400 degrees) 6 to 8 minutes. Yield 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
