KRAUT BURGERS
1/2 to 1 onion, diced
1 lb. pork sausage (optional)
2 lbs. hamburger
2 tsp. leaf oregano
1 env. Lipton's onion soup mix
1 (2 1/2) cans sauerkraut, drained and cut
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
6 tubes refrigerator biscuits (like Pillsbury)

Cook hamburger. Saute onion in a little shortening or hamburger juice. Add sausage and cook until done. Add oregano, onion soup mix, salt, pepper, and sauerkraut. Cook until sauerkraut is warm. Drain grease and cook until hot. Each burger takes 2 biscuits rolled into a 6 or 7 inch circle. Place 2 tablespoons of meat filling in center of dough. Bring edges together and pinch closed. Place each burger on cookie sheet pinched edges side down. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Yields: Approximately 30 burgers. (They can be frozen and popped in microwave to be reheated.)

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
