OLD FASHIONED CHOCOLATE PIE | |
2 1/4 c. sugar 3 heaping tbsp. flour 3 heaping tbsp. cocoa 5 eggs, separated Pinch of salt 3 c. milk 2 baked shells or lg. homemade pie crusts, baked 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar Scald milk. Mix together 2 cups sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt. Add to milk. Cook in double boiler, stirring constantly until well mixed. Add egg yolks. Continue stirring until thick. Pour into baked crusts. Add 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar to egg whites. Beat until stiff peaks. Cover pie sealing edges. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, about 10 minutes. |
