LILLIE AGNES' STRAWBERRY JAM
CAKE
 
1 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sour cream
2 well beaten eggs
1/2 c. strawberry preserves
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves, nutmeg, salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream together sugar, shortening, sour cream, vanilla and eggs. Sift together dry ingredients and alternately add dry ingredients and jam. Bake in layers for 25 to 30 minutes on 350 degrees. For loaf cake, bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Spread strawberry preserves between layers and cover with Mocha Frosting.

MOCHA FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
3 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
Hot coffee
