CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. boiling water
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Add the oatmeal to the boiling water. Let it stand for 10 minutes. Mix brown sugar, sugar, and the butter together until creamy. Add the beaten eggs to the mixture; stir. Next, add the oatmeal to the mixture.

In another bowl mix together the flour, baking soda, and the salt. Stir and add to the mixture. Stir in 6 ounces of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Pour into prepared 9x13 pan. Sprinkle remaining chips and nuts on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
