DANISH APPLE DESSERT | |
4 c. finely crumbled doughnuts 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. cloves 4 c. canned applesauce 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1/4 c. butter, melted 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. heavy cream, whipped Mix together crumbs and spices. Combine applesauce and lemon juice. Alternate layers of crumb mixture and applesauce mix in a greased 2 quart baking dish, beginning and ending with crumb layer. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Chill. When ready to serve, top with whipped cream. Almond extract gives a little something extra to the whipped cream. 6 to 8 servings. |
