APPLE - PECAN DESSERT 
1 egg
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped peeled, tart apples (2 med.)
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
Unsweetened whipped cream or ice cream

In medium bowl beat egg until light. Add flour, cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar, salt and baking soda and mix well. Fold in apples and pecans. Turn into greased 8 inch pie plate. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until firm and well browned. Serve warm or cool with whipped cream or ice cream.

SO glad to find this; I lost this recipe when my entire box of favorite ones disappeared. It is the same as the one I had saved from a strip of recipe cards enclosed in a 10# bag of all-purpose flour back in 1962 or 63. I've searched online many times hoping to find it and today here it is! This is a homey dessert of modest sizethat is just right for a sweet ending to a meal or stand-alone snack. I always shredded the apples with a simple hand shredder. It would puff up and the collapse into the pie plate (supposed to do that).
