SNOWBALL COOKIES | |
2 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. softened butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts) Confectioners' sugar Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheet with unsalted shortening. Sift together flour and salt. Work butter in a bowl until creamy. Add sugar and beat well, until blended. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Gradually add sifted dry ingredients, beating well after each addition. Stir in walnuts and shape dough into 3/4 inch balls. Place balls about 2 inches apart on prepared sheets. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Roll balls in confectioners' sugar while still warm and then roll again in sugar when cooled. |
