CHICKEN - N - DUMPLINGS | |
1 whole chicken 1 can chicken broth 3 c. self-rising flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/3 c. cooking oil 1 3/4 c. milk Water Salt Pepper Place chicken in very large kettle and cover with water about 2 inches over chicken. Add salt and pepper. Boil until chicken falls off bone. Keep same amount of water at all times. When chicken is done, dip it from kettle and pick off meat. Then put back into pot. Throw away skin and bones. Take 1/4 cup broth, put in a bowl and the rest in kettle. Mix 1/4 cup broth, flour, oil, soda and milk together. Drop by spoonfuls into broth. Cook until done. |
