POLENTA PIE 
1/2 lb. ground beef
2 c. mushrooms
3/4 lb. chopped green peppers
1/2 c. chopped onion
Garlic
2-4 c.: bread crumbs, 1 teaspoon salt, oregano, pepper
3 slices American cheese
3/4 c. corn meal
3/4 tsp. salt
2 c. water
Few drops of hot sauce

Cook ground meat, mushrooms, green pepper, onions and garlic. Remove from heat. In bowl mix egg, bread crumbs, the teaspoon of salt and spices. Combine with meat mixture. Turn into ungreased 9 inch pie plate. Set aside.

In saucepan combine corn meal, remaining 3/4 teaspoon salt and water. Cook and stir. Spread on top meat mixture. Bake for 20 minutes. Top with cheese. Bake 3 minutes more.
