THE BEST COOKIES IN THE WORLD 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg (beaten)
1 c. oats
1 c. Grapenut flakes (crushed)
1 c. shredded coconut
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. chopped nuts
3 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. coconut extract
1 c. salad oil

Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mixing well. Add in salad oil, mixing well. Add oats, Grapenut flakes, coconut and chopped nuts, stirring well.

Add flour and flavorings. Mix well. Form into balls the size of small walnuts and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Flatten with fork, dip fork into water to prevent sticking to cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 8 dozen.
