SPANISH RICE | |
5 tbsp. oil 1/2 green pepper, chopped 1 sm. (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 c. Ortega taco sauce, optional 2 c. long grain uncooked rice 1/2 lb. hamburger In a large frying pan, pour the oil, then your rice, under low heat stir rice until it starts to turn golden brown (be patient). Next pour 2-4 cups of water in the rice to boil, pour enough water so rice is submerged in water (some rice will float to the top of pan). Next turn stove up to medium, then put in your chopped green pepper. Wait about 15 minutes then pour your cooked hamburger and half of the tomato sauce. When it starts to boil, and the water starts to evaporate, lower heat and add the rest of the sauce and the taco sauce. Stir and wait about 10-15 minutes. If most of the water has evaporated and the rice is tender, it is done!! Depending on one's own likes, you can add or delete the sauce. |
