TEXAS STYLE CHILI | |
1 (3-4 lb.) chuck roast 1/4 c. oil 3 c. chopped onion 3 med. peppers 4 cloves garlic, crushed 2 (28 oz.) cans tomatoes 1 (12 oz.) tomato paste 2 c. water 1/3 c. chili powder 1/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. salt 2 tsp. oregano 3/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. cheese Cut chuck into small pieces. Brown and set aside. Add onion, peppers and garlic and cook 10 minutes. Return meat and remaining ingredients and cook on low for 1 1/2 hours. Makes 12 servings. |
