CHILI CON CARNE TEXAS STYLE 
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 med. onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tsp. ground turmeric
1 tbsp. ground coriander
2 tbsp. mole or chili powder
1 tsp. chopped hot green peppers (fresh or canned)
1 c. peeled tomatoes

In a skillet cook all ingredients except the tomatoes for 10 minutes. Add tomatoes and simmer covered 25 or 30 minutes. You may add beans if you like. If additional liquid is needed, add beef stock, such as beef bouillon mixed with water.
