WHITE FRUIT CAKE 
1/2 lb. creamy butter or 3/4 lb. country butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 c. wine or 100% whiskey
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. pecans
1 lb. dates
1 lb. candied cherries
1 lb. pineapple

Mix batter as any other cake; add fruit and nuts. Bake at 275 degrees in oven for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Bake over water.
