OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. soft butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate bits

Combine all ingredients except oats, nuts and bits. Blend with mixer. Stir in remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly. If desired, chill dough for easier handling. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
