LAYERED VEGETABLE SALAD 
Lettuce
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 can water chestnuts, drained
1 box frozen green peas
1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 tbsp. sugar
6 slices bacon
4 boiled eggs, sliced
1 (8 oz.) pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese

In large casserole dish, spread bottom of dish with chopped lettuce. Add a layer each of onion, celery, chestnuts and peas. Spread mayonnaise evenly on top. Sprinkle sugar over the mayonnaise. Refrigerate overnight. Before serving, top with alternate layers of bacon, eggs and cheese.
