1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
48 Hershey kisses

Beat together sugar, shortening, and peanut butter; add egg and vanilla. Stir. Add flour and soda. Chill dough until firm. Roll into balls. Roll balls in sugar.

Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven; insert kiss on each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet.
