PEANUT BRITTLE CANDY 
2 c. sugar
1 c. light Karo syrup
1/2 c. water
2 c. raw peanuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Cook sugar, Karo and water in a large heavy skillet until it spins a thread. Add raw peanuts and cook until golden brown (be sure it is golden brown, not golden yellow.) Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda. Stir until soda is mixed in well. Pour into buttered shallow pan, such as a jelly roll pan. Cool and break into pieces.
