1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels 2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided 1 pkg. (2 layer cake) German Chocolate Cake Mix 3/4 c. butter, melted 1 c. chopped nuts 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips Confectioners' sugar Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9 x 13 inch pan. Combine caramels and 1/3 cup milk, cook over low heat until caramels melt - keep warm. Combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup milk and nuts. Stir by hand until dough is well mixed. Press half of dough into pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 6 minutes. Then sprinkle chips over crust and spread caramel mixture over top of caramel layer. Bake 15-25 minutes. Cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar if desired. |
