GINGERBREAD PEOPLE 
3/4 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 2/3 c. flour
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. salt

In large bowl, thoroughly mix sugar and butter. Beat in egg and molasses. Stir in flour, ginger, baking soda and remaining spices. Roll dough on well floured board, until 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool on rack. Decorate as desired. Makes 18 (5 inch) cookies.
