5 qt. popped popcorn 1 c. parched peanuts 1 c. (2 sticks) butter 1 box light brown sugar 1/2 c. dark Karo syrup 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. vanilla Combine popcorn and peanuts in a large pan. In boiler, melt butter, add sugar and syrup. Bring to boil and boil 5 minutes. Stir often. Remove from heat and stir in soda, salt and vanilla. Pour over popcorn and nuts. Stir well to coat popcorn. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Break apart and put in airtight container. |
