1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa

Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cocoa. Stir in milk and butter. Mix until smooth. Add nuts if desired and put in an 8-inch pan. Mix together sugar and cocoa. Spread over batter in pan and then pour 1 3/4 cups boiling water over also! DO NOT STIR.

Bake 45 minutes in a moderate oven.
