1 1/4 c. flour 3 tbsp. sugar 1/2 c. butter Mix flour and sugar. Cut in butter. Roll out, cut in wedges, scallop edges if desired. Do not separate wedges. Prick each wedge. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until edges are lightly brown. Recut wedges while warm. Cool on wire rack. THUMBPRINTS: Prepare dough as above. Shape into 1 inch ball. Press with thumb in center. Bake at 325 degrees for 18 minutes. Immediately spoon 1/2 teaspoon fruit preserves. PECAN SPICE: Prepare dough as directed except substitute brown sugar for sugar and add 1 teaspoon apple spice. Pat dough into greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Cut dough into rectangles (don't separate). Top each with 1 pecan half pressing lightly. Bake at 325 degrees for 23 to 25 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. |
