POOR MAN'S STEAK | |
2 lb. ground beef 2 medium onions, chopped 2 cups bread crumbs (or herb stuffing mix) 2 eggs 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. dill 1/4 cup chopped green pepper (optional) 1 cup ketchup (Hunts) 1 tsp. parsley GRAVY: 2 env. Lipton's beefy onion soup mix Combine above ingredients thoroughly; shape into "steak" patties. Brown "steaks" in small amount of melted butter. Place in roasting pan and cover with two envelopes of Lipton's (I sometimes use beefy mushroom). Prepare soup mix according to package directions. Cover and bake at 325°F for 20 minutes. Variation: You can use any gravy of your choice or a (10 oz.) can of condensed soup, diluted. Makes 10 to 12 steaks. Submitted by: Emily Larson |
