LOUISIANA RED BEANS & RICE 
1 c. pinto beans (kidney beans)
1/4 c. cut bell pepper
3/4 tsp. marjoram
1 tsp. thyme
1 med. onion
1 lg. clove garlic

Cover with water, salt, pepper and cook until tender (several hours). To give it good flavor and make a complete meal, cook with ham chunks, leftover or fresh. Serve over cooked rice.
