CHERRY SQUARES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1 can cherry pie filling

Heat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Blend sugar, butter, shortening, baking powder, vanilla and eggs. Beat well. Add flour. Batter will be thick. Spread 2/3 batter in the pan. Spread cherry filling over batter. Drop remaining batter by tablespoons on top of pie filling. Bake 45 minutes.

GLAZE:

Mix 1 cup confectioner's sugar and 1 or 2 tablespoons milk. Drizzle over warm cake.
