BUBLANIA (Cherry Squares) 
1 c. butter, softened
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can cherry pie filling
Powdered sugar

Cream together butter and sugar. Add 4 eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Add vanilla, flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well.

Spread in a greased and floured 11x15 inch pan, saving about 1 cup of batter. Spread 1 can cherry pie filling to within 1/2 inch of edge of pan. Put remaining batter over cherry filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
