HOMEMADE BREADSTICKS 
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water (105 to 115 degrees)
1 tbsp. salad oil
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. warm milk
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Caraway seeds for garnish

1. Large mixer bowl, sprinkle yeast over 1/4 cup water, let stand for 5 minutes.

2. Stir in salad oil, sugar, salt, milk and 2 cups flour. Beat on medium speed for 5 minutes or until dough pulls from sides of bowl in stretchy strands.

3. Stir in flour to form stiff dough (1 cup). Turn onto lightly floured board. Knead for 10 minutes or until smooth.

4. Turn dough over in lightly greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.

5. Knead to expel air. Cut into 12 equal pieces. Cover and let rest for 5 minutes. Roll each piece out into a log, cut in 12 inches long. Set on greased baking sheet 1 inch apart, brush with oil. Sprinkle with caraway seeds.

6. Rise for 20 minutes or until puffy in a warm place. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on pan for 2 minutes.

Preparation time: 1 1/2 hours. Baking time: 15 minutes. Makes 1 dozen breadsticks.
