COCONUT CRUNCHIES 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. corn flakes
1 c. coconut

Set oven temperature at 325 degrees.

Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Cream shortening and sugars. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Blend in sifted ingredients. Add oatmeal, corn flakes and coconut. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Dough will be thick.

Yield: 4 dozen.
