SYRUP CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. syrup
1 c. Wesson oil
1 c. buttermilk (added last)
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves

Mix together sugar, syrup and oil. Blend in flour sifted with soda, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Add buttermilk along with the flour and spices. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Any type syrup will do, but I use Blackburn's White Label.
