MICROWAVE HAM AND CHEESE CHOWDER 
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1 med. onion, chopped
3 tbsp. flour
3 c. milk
2 c. (8 oz.) cubed ham or left over ham
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 c. cooked rice

Cook rice first so it will be ready. Combine celery, onion and butter in 3 quart glass casserole. Microwave on High, covered 5 to 6 minutes, stirring once. Stir in flour, salt and milk. Microwave on roast, covered, 7 to 8 minutes or until mixture boils, stirring once or twice. Add cooked rice, ham and cheese. Microwave on roast or medium, covered for 5 to 6 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
