PIE PASTRY FOR A PARTY 
5 cups pre-sifted all-purpose flour
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. lard or Crisco shortening
1 egg
2 tbsp. vinegar
Water

In mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in lard or Crisco until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In measuring cup combine egg and vinegar. Mix with fork slightly; add sufficient water to make 2/3 cup. Add to flour mixture and work together until dough, forms a ball.

Makes pastry for 4 or 5 one crust pies.
