EGG HOT DISH | |
12 slices of white bread, diced 1 lb. Velveeta cheese (American), diced 2 c. cooked ham, diced 12 eggs 1 tsp. grated onion (or more) 1/2 tsp. mustard 1 tsp. salt (optional) 6 c. milk Serves 12. Butter a 10 x 16 x 2 inch deep pan. Mix the diced bread, cheese, and ham. In a large bowl, beat eggs slightly. Add the onion, mustard, and salt. Add milk. Mix thoroughly and pour over bread mixture in pan. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. The next day, bake, covered, at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Uncover and bake an additional 45 minutes. (Before baking, bring to room temperature, about 1 hour.) Check to make sure the center is done. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. |
