ANGEL GINGERBREAD 
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. molasses
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda, mix with flour
1 egg
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. boiling water

Mix together and bake in 8x8 inch pan at 375 degrees until done. Top with whipped cream or Lemon Sauce.

LEMON SAUCE:

1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind

Mix sugar and cornstarch. Gradually stir in water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Keep hot until time to serve. Serve over gingerbread. Makes 2/3 cup sauce.
