SOUFFLE SALAD | |
1 pkg. lemon or lime Jello 1 c. hot water 1/2 c. cold water 1/2 c. Best Foods or Hellmann's mayonnaise 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. peeled apple, diced 3/4 c. red grapes, seeded 1/4 c. walnuts, chopped Dissolve Jello in hot water. Add cold water, mayonnaise, lemon juice and salt. Blend well with rotary beater. Pour into refrigerator freezing tray. Quick chill in freezing unit (without changing control) 15 to 20 minutes or until firm, about 1 inch from edge but soft in center. (While chilling, prepare fruits.) Turn mixture into bowl and whip with rotary beater until fluffy. Fold in apples, grapes, walnuts. Pour into 1-quart mold and chill until firm in refrigerator (not freezing unit) 30 to 60 minutes. Unmold. Garnish with grapes, pears, and plums. Serves 4-6. |
