SPECIAL FRENCH TOAST 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. corn syrup
1 loaf of French bread, cut at an angle, 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook the sugar, butter and syrup in a saucepan until the mixture becomes "syrupy."

Pour the syrup mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Place the sliced bread on the syrup mixture. Beat together the eggs, milk and vanilla and pour over the bread.

Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Serves 6 to 8.
