APPLE CRISP 
1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. rolled oats
1/4 c. walnuts, chopped
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
3 c. crisp, tart apple slices
Vanilla ice cream
Whipped cream

Combine flour, oats, nuts, brown sugar and cinnamon in bowl. Cut in butter until butter pieces are the size of small peas. Set aside. Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan. Peel, core and slice tart apples to make 3 cups. Spoon topping evenly over apples. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or cold with whipped cream.
