AUNT IRMA'S CANDIED GRAPEFRUIT
PEEL
 
2-5 grapefruit
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. water
3 oz. orange Jello

Remove the peel from grapefruit and cut into thin slices. In a medium saucepan, cover peel with hot water and boil 15 minutes. Drain in colander and rinse well. Cover with fresh water and boil again. Drain and rinse.

Heat sugar, corn syrup and water. Stir in peel and reduce heat (low). Cook until most of syrup is absorbed. Stir gently. Remove from heat and add Jello. The mixture will be sticky. Place peels in a separate bowl and add sugar, enough to coat the peel. Let dry 24 hours.
