CHOCOLATE CHIP PEANUT BUTTER
CRISPS
 
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 c. Kix cereal
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix sugars, peanut butter, butter, shortening, egg, baking soda and baking powder in 4 quart bowl thoroughly. Stir in cereal and chocolate chips. Shape dough slightly by rounded tablespoonfuls; place about 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until golden, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. About 3 1/2 dozen cookies.

BUTTERSCOTCH-PEANUT BUTTER CRISPS: Substitute 1 (6 oz.) package butterscotch chips for the semi sweet chocolate chips.
