STRAWBERRY NUT SHORTCAKE 
1/2 c. sour cream
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Combine sour cream, shortening, egg and beat until smooth. Add nuts. Sift all of the dry ingredients together and add to the first mixture. Stir just until mixed. Drop by tablespoon onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

If batter is a little dry, add just a little bit of milk or a tablespoon of sour cream.
