1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening and eggs. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough into balls, rounded teaspoon. Roll balls in mixture of sugar and cinnamon to coat. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Makes about 6 dozen.
