FISH MARKET APPLE PIE 
Use 2 1/2 lbs. McIntosh apples - 6 large or 9 small.

CRUST:

1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter
Enough water or apple juice to bind

Make a thick rim on crust.

FILLING:

Combine and mix with apples: 1 lg. egg 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. flour 2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt Apples, sliced

Place apples combined with filling in a 10 inch pie shell. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. white sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts

After filling is baked, stir thoroughly but gently. Place topping over filing and return to oven for 15 minutes. Cool before slicing. Makes one 10 inch pie.
