LAZY DAISY OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal (quick or reg.)
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. cream or evaporated milk
1/3 c. nuts
3/4 c. coconut

Pour boiling water over oatmeal; cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs; add oat mixture and mix well. Sift together and add flour, soda, salt, and spices; mix well. Bake in well greased and floured 9 inch square pan at 350 degrees for 5-55 minutes. Do not remove from pan. Combine all frosting ingredients; spread evenly over cake and broil until frosting becomes bubbly.
