DATE FILLED WON TON COOKIES | |
1 (8 oz.) pkg. finely chopped dates 1/3 c. sugar 1/4 c. water 1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 tsp. vanilla Won ton skins (found in produce dept.) Powdered sugar Combine dates, sugar and water in saucepan and bring to boil. Lower heat and cook about 4 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add walnuts, lemon juice and vanilla. Cool filling. Lay won ton skin flat with one corner pointing toward you. Spread 1 teaspoon filling in center. Roll up won ton into log with point on each end. Wet middle point and seal the log. Wet two outer points and twist to seal ends. Fry logs in deep hot oil between 1 and 2 minutes. Remove and sprinkle powdered sugar over each log. |
