CRUMBLE CAKE 
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vinegar

Mix sugar, flour, spices and butter with pastry blender. Take out 1 cup for topping and set aside. Add baking powder to crumb mixture. Dissolve soda in the vinegar, then add to buttermilk. Add this and well beaten eggs to crumb mixture, stirring only enough to mix. Pour into 2 lightly greased and floured 9 inch cake pans, sprinkle tops with crumbs. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
