CRANBERRY BREAD
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. butter
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. grated orange peel
3/4 c. orange juice
1 1/2 c. raisins or walnuts - or both
1 1/2 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped in blender or food chopper. You may also double cranberries and eliminate raisins.

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda into a large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Add egg, orange peel and orange juice all at once; stir until mixture is evenly moist. Fold in raisins or nuts and cranberries.

Spoon into 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until tested with cake tester and it's clean. Cool on wire rack. I usually double this recipe to get two loaves.
